I agree to
- Wear safety goggles whenever anyone in the room is doing lab work
- Follow instructions exactly, and ask when I am unsure
- Never eat, drink, or taste anything in the lab
- Waft odours toward me rather than inhaling directly
- Report every spill, break, cut, and burn immediately
- Tie back long hair and secure loose clothing
- Know where the eyewash, safety shower, fire extinguisher, blanket, and exits are before I need them
- Leave my station cleaner than I found it
- Never take chemicals or equipment out of the room
Conduct that ends lab privileges
Horseplay, ignoring instructions, or interfering with someone else’s safety. You will complete the work as a written assignment instead, and we will talk with home.
The one that matters most
Tell me when something goes wrong, immediately. A small spill handled right away is nothing. The same spill hidden for ten minutes is an incident report. You will never be in trouble for reporting an accident.
